Ham and Turkey Pita Pocket Sandwich

11 September 2011 No Comment

A basic ham and turkey pita pocket sandwich is a quick and easy lunch to fix. The pita pocket sandwich can be made while you are at home during lunch or it can be easily fixed quickly in the morning to bring for lunch at work. The juice to go along with it makes for a cure of a little sweet tooth at after eating your sandwich.

Step 1: Warm a full pita pocket for about 15 seconds or until it is soft enough to cut in half and open up. If you already have a half pita pocket out of the bag, you are already one step ahead.

Step 2: Separate and tear the 1/2 pita pocket into half to make “sandwich bread”

Step 3: Fold and place your 6 slices of ham and turkey on your pita pocket sides

Optional Step: If you want mustard, which is calorie FREE, slather it on your meats at this time.

Step 4: Sprinkle your shredded cheese on top of one of the sides. Whichever side you want to be the bottom :)

Step 5: Pile on your spinach and lettuce. If you don’t like one or the other you can substitute for the other. If you do not like either they only make up for about 4 calories… so… there is not much of anything else you can substitute for.

Step 6: Combine your two sides to make your sandwich!

Step 7: Pour yourself a glass of  juice that will bring your total calorie count to about 300. Make sure that you also have a glass of water with your meal!
